K. Peter Etzkorn Scholarship Fund

Terms of Grant

Purpose:

To enable the recipient to pursue university based education in either the Sister City of Stuttgart or the city of Karlsruhe, which was the childhood home of Dr. K. Peter Etzkorn.

Grant Amount:

One non-renewable $1500 scholarship will be awarded each calendar year.

Eligibility:

	Permanent resident of St. Louis City or St. Louis County, Missouri, and a U.S. citizen.
	Enrolled or accepted for enrollment at a university in Stuttgart or Karlsruhe.
	Completed two years of college German with a minimum GPA of 3.00 on a scale of 4.00.
	Have an overall minimum GPA of 3.00 on a scale of 4.00.

Application:

	College transcript.
	One page statement of the purpose of the program of study in both English and German.
	Two letters of reference, one of which must be from a present/former professor of German.
	Official letter of acceptance from the university in Stuttgart or Karlsruhe.
	St. Louis-Stuttgart Sister Cities Study Abroad Application Form. The above documentation should be submitted to the St. Louis-Stuttgart Sister Cities Education Committee at the following address: Dr. Gary Bachman Chair, Education Committee 1604 Baxter Forest Ridge Court Chesterfield, MO 63005 A personal interview of each applicant may be scheduled at the request of the education committee.

Stipulations:

The scholarship must be refunded in full to the St. Louis-Stuttgart Sister Cities committee if the program abroad is not followed up by proof of participation.
